The trip over Romsdalseggen ridge takes you right through the most beautiful mountains in Norway -- with views that will astound the most experienced mountain walker. We have mountains and fjords, peaks and waterfalls everywhere. From Romsdalseggen, there are spectacular views of Åndalsnes, the Norwegian mountain capital, of the river Rauma in the depths of the valley of Romsdalen and of Trollveggen and the troll mountains, right down to Molde and the open sea in the west.
You can take three different routes -- one easy, one normal and one extreme where a mountain guide is necessary. The trip is about 10 kilometres and takes 5-7 hours. It starts and ends in Åndalsnes. Buses go from Åndalsnes to Vengedalen where the trip over Romsdalseggen starts. Bus from Åndalsnes Station, daily 1 July -- 30 September.
