AutoSync, Norway's largest AutoPASS issuer, analyzed customer payments for the first six months of 2026. The data includes road tolls and ferry tickets. In many places, costs have increased. The company points to lower discounts for electric cars, new toll collection points, and a general rise in prices.
Oslo pays the most. Ålesund climbs to the podium
Oslo remains in first place among the largest cities. Drivers in the capital paid an average of 689 NOK per vehicle per month, which is 5.6 percent more than a year earlier. Ålesund took second place with 601 NOK—a rise of 11 percent.
Trondheim came in third, with an average of 579 NOK, almost the same as in 2025. Stavanger fell out of the top three, recording 544 NOK per month, which is 1.5 percent less than the previous year.

Haugesund grows the most. Drammen remains at the bottom
The largest increase among the 20 biggest cities was recorded in Haugesund. Drivers there paid an average of 434 NOK per month, which is 73 NOK more than in 2025. This means an increase of 20.2 percent. In Bergen, the fee rose to 575 NOK, up by 13.8 percent.
At the bottom of the city ranking were Drammen and Tønsberg. In Drammen, the average was 173 NOK per month. In Tønsberg, it was 207 NOK. AutoSync's commercial director Svein Skovly points out that after the start of toll collection on July 1, 2026, Tønsberg may climb in next year's rankings.
In the regional ranking, Oslo also took first place, ahead of Trøndelag and Rogaland. Outside the big cities, the municipalities of Ringerike and Hallingdal stood out, influenced by tolls at Sollihøgda and a previous pause in collection on the Riksvei 7 road. The highest local result was recorded in the Bjerke district of Oslo, where drivers paid an average of 799 NOK per month.
