Snowfall in Norway, combined with subzero temperatures, has turned road surfaces into an "ice rink." Municipal roads have become hazardous, and meteorologists warn that winter conditions will increasingly affect drivers.
In the central regions of the country, including Østerdalen, a thin layer of snow formed on the asphalt and turned into an ice rink. The Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen) reported receiving notifications and has dispatched intervention teams to critical sections.

Meteorologists note that the past night was the coldest of the current autumn season, resulting in subzero temperatures, precipitation, and road difficulties.

Conditions Worsened Here

In Trøndelag and Innlandet, overnight snowfall combined with subzero temperatures led to a rapid deterioration of road conditions. A thin layer of ice formed, making it difficult for both passenger cars and trucks to move.

On the RV3 route, drivers and trucks were stuck in traffic jams. Local authorities confirm that services have been mobilized to salt and clear critical areas.

Alexander Skjeldved from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute reports that October had so far maintained above-normal temperatures. Now, a noticeable shift is being observed. In Oslo, the temperature deviation from the norm was +2°C, and in Troms even +3°C. Currently, weather phenomena indicate a cooling, particularly evident in the north of the country.
