After a cooler start to the week, a significant warm-up is forecasted. The highest temperatures will appear in Østlandet. On Thursday and Friday, thermometers will show between 20 and 25 degrees. At the same time, weather warnings are in effect in parts of the country.

Warmth Like in Southern Europe

Meteorologists point to a rapid rise in temperatures. On Thursday and Friday in southern Norway, temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees. The warmest will be inland. In Telemark and Buskerud, temperatures may reach 25 degrees. The warm-up will cover several major cities in the region.

Temperatures will be similar to those in Spain. In Malaga, 24 degrees are forecast, and in Marbella, 20 degrees. Last week in Oslo, the temperature approached 20 degrees. The warm weather is expected to continue in the coming days.

Warnings and Tougher Conditions in the North

Yellow warnings have been issued for parts of Vestlandet, Rogaland, and Østlandet. They concern the risk of grass and heathland fires. The warnings are in effect until sufficient rainfall occurs, reports Yr. Authorities urge caution when using open flames both in gardens and in communal areas.

In the north of the country, the situation will be different. The wind will shift from northwesterly to southerly. The changes will first affect Nordland, then Troms and Finnmark. Warmer, humid air will flow in. Locally, 10 to 20 centimeters of snow are forecast. Police advise against driving on summer tires.
Forecasts indicate that the upcoming long weekend in northern Norway may bring less favorable weather conditions. Changeable weather and snowfall may affect road traffic and the daily lives of residents in the region.
