Budget and Safety as Key Factors
The choice of holiday type is primarily influenced by the financial capabilities of households. The price of a holiday and how well it fits the household budget remain key criteria.
A sense of safety and the political stability of the destination country are also important. According to Virke data, the average Norwegian household plans to spend around NOK 40,000 on holidays in 2026, although the level of spending varies depending on financial situation.
