DISCIPLINE MANAGERS
Place of work: STAVANGER, NORWAY
The Engineering & Procurement division (E&P) is responsible for all engineering, procurement, IS/IT and information management activities in our projects. This position will support the following disciplines
- Structural & Outfitting
- Piping & Layout
- Process, Mechanical & Technical Safety.
Job description:
- The Discipline Manager main objective is supervision and coordination of the discipline activities in accordance with the Contract and other project needs.
This implies to:
- Manage, control and coordinate the discipline engineering activities in accordance with the Contract and contractor's engineering standards and practice and ensure a safe, consistent and effective project execution.
- Responsible for planning and development of the discipline engineering documents, engineering schedules and budgets and the continuous monitoring of these documents.
- Ensure that discipline personnel execute engineering design and drafting in a competent manner, that correct basis for design is being used and that safety and quality requirements are satisfied.
- Monitoring work progress against schedules, highlight areas of concern, and take corrective action as necessary.
- Liaison with other Discipline Lead Engineers to ensure correct communication and information flow.
- Ensure that the discipline is staffed by suitable qualified personnel in sufficient number to meet project targets.
- Attending weekly CET engineering meeting and other project meetings as required. Participate in presentations and ad-hoc reporting.
- Cooperate with Company's Operation personnel and evaluate requests for design modification according to the procedures established
- Interface responsibility for discipline activities with other groups in department and project
Qualifications:
- University or college degree (BsC or MsC preferred)
- Eight to ten years of experience within a similar position (five years offshore)
Personal Qualities:
- Strong communication and excellent team skills
- Excellent English skills, written and oral
- Engineering management experience is considered an asset
