The survey results indicate that women are more likely to sell or give away gifts. 34 percent of women declared they had sold or passed on a received gift. Among men, 23 percent of respondents took such a step.

Differences are also visible depending on age. In the group of people over 60, as many as 78 percent said they had never sold or given away a gift they received.

Families with Children Are the Most Active

The survey shows a strong variation related to family situation. Nearly half of families with children declared they had sold or passed on a Christmas gift.

According to FINN Torget data, it is families with children who are the most active on the second-hand market after Christmas. This is linked to the changing needs of children, especially regarding clothes, toys, and equipment used by the youngest.

January: A Time of Increased Sales

FINN Torget points out a seasonal increase in the number of offers after Christmas. After the holidays, more clothes, toys, sports equipment, and electronics appear on the platform. January is a period of intense activity for sellers and buyers.

The phenomenon of selling and passing on gifts after the holidays involves a significant part of society. The data indicates that it does not concern only individual groups. The second-hand market after the Christmas period is becoming an important element of goods circulation.
