Less Serious Violence
The number of juvenile victims of robberies also decreased. In 2024, there were 148 such cases. In 2025, this number dropped to 70. According to the police, this means fewer incidents that could have long-term effects on children and youth.

Serious Incidents and New Recruitment Methods
A few days later, a grenade also exploded in a restaurant in Strømmen, Lillestrøm. Police describe these incidents as groundbreaking. They note that similar trends are being observed in many countries. Authorities are monitoring the situation in cooperation with other institutions.
In recent years, several preventive measures have been introduced. Among them is one-on-one care for youth returning to crime. There is also a fast-track system for handling cases involving people under 18. Police have increased patrol presence in selected districts.
In total, 86,380 reports were registered in the Oslo district in 2025. This is 6 percent more than the previous year and 16 percent above the average for the past five years. The increase mainly concerned theft and acts of vandalism. However, police indicate that this is related to new digital solutions for registering reports, which affects the statistics without directly reflecting the actual crime rate.
