One sentence was enough. Flights to Norway ended ahead of schedule
Two trips to Norway ended even before boarding. The reason was passengers' statements about weapons and a bomb during check-in. In both cases, security procedures were initiated.
Any unusual behavior, even "joking", must result in intervention by the Border Guard patrol.

The Border Guard (SG) described interventions at airports in Warsaw and Krakow in June reports. Both concerned passengers traveling to Norway who, during check-in, provided information about a possible threat. The authorities checked the travelers and their luggage. No dangerous items were found.
A joke at check-in. Flight to Oslo interrupted
The first intervention took place at Chopin Airport. The Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit reported a 41-year-old passenger who was supposed to fly to Oslo. During ticket and baggage check-in, he was asked about dangerous items. He replied that instead of a small weapon, he had a 'Kalashnikov.'
The man explained a moment later that he was joking. Officers from the Special Intervention Group of the Warsaw-Okęcie Border Guard Station were dispatched to the scene and checked the passenger and his luggage. No dangerous items were found. The airline decided to remove the 41-year-old from the flight to Oslo.
Fine and inspection. Trip to Norway ended
For causing an unjustified alarm, the passenger was fined. The penalty amounted to 500 PLN. The Border Guard indicated that it was also about hindering the work of services responsible for civil aviation security. The basis was Article 210, paragraph 1, point 5a of the Aviation Law.
A similar intervention was described by the Carpathian Border Guard Unit. At the Krakow-Balice airport, officers responded to a passenger who was supposed to fly to Norway. During check-in, information was given that there was a bomb in the luggage. The inspection did not confirm the threat, but the traveler received a fine and was not allowed to board the flight.
The Border Guard reminds that information about weapons, bombs, and explosives triggers security procedures. Every such report is treated as a real threat. The consequences may include a fine, additional inspection, and denial of boarding.
