Thirty-three individuals linked to foreign criminal networks have received deportation orders from Norway based on cases handled by the capital's police up to September 1, 2025. The actions are part of coordinated cooperation with the Directorate of Immigration (UDI).
The Oslo Police District indicates that the priority is to combat organized criminal networks by combining operational activities, criminal proceedings, and administrative measures related to residency. Deportations are issued after assessing the legality of stay and analyzing materials concerning criminal activity, which are forwarded to the Directorate of Immigration as part of the procedures.

Officers also point to the importance of international police information exchange in identifying cross-border connections. Decisions are made individually and are tailored to the status of criminal cases and the practical realities of enforcing the orders.

Gangsters in Norway. The Penalty Is Deportation

The use of administrative measures such as deportation complements law enforcement tools by targeting the logistical and operational base of criminal groups. The Oslo Police District emphasizes the need for ongoing coordination with the Directorate of Immigration to ensure that residency decisions align with risk assessments for public order and safety.

This year, 33 deportations of individuals linked to foreign criminal networks have been recorded in Oslo. Most were Swedish citizens (24). The list also includes people from Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Albania, Eritrea, France, and Iraq.
The deported individuals are connected to Swedish criminal gangs, motorcycle gangs, pimps and human traffickers, drug networks, and fraud schemes.

Authorities note that the execution of deportations may depend on the completion of criminal proceedings and the possible serving of sentences, which affects the timeline for leaving the country. At the same time, efforts are underway to prevent the re-establishment of criminal structures, including neutralizing key members' roles and limiting recruitment.
