The coming days will bring a significant change in weather in Norway. After a mild and wet midweek, the country is facing a cold snap. Meteorologists are warning of snow and strong winds in the north of the country.
Cold air masses from the north will move across the entire country. Meteorologist Alexander Skeltved announces that the northern wind will intensify on November 13 and 14, bringing colder temperatures.
In northern Norway, temperatures may drop as low as minus five degrees, while along the coast, temperatures will hover around zero. In the southern part of the country, frost is possible at night, and during the day, temperatures will fluctuate around zero.

Yellow Warnings for Several Regions
The Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for the regions of Nordfjord, Møre og Romsdal, and Trøndelag. Forecasts indicate that up to five centimeters of snow may fall within a day.
In northern Norway, snowfall is already occurring and is expected to continue. Skeltved says that residents in the north should prepare for ongoing snowstorms and winter road conditions.

Strong Winds and a Polar Low
An additional threat will be strong winds associated with the incoming low-pressure system. A yellow warning has also been issued for Finnmark, where gusty winds are expected.
The polar low will bring particularly challenging weather conditions to the Lofoten and Vesterålen regions. Meteorologists emphasize that sudden weather changes and limited visibility are expected in these areas.

While northern and central Norway will face difficult conditions, the south of the country will remain relatively calm. Skeltved announces that this weekend, Østlandet and Sørlandet will enjoy the best weather. There, cold temperatures and clear skies are forecast.
