Up to 20 Degrees Difference: This Is What the End of the Year Will Look Like in Norway

A high-pressure system will remain over southern Norway, bringing calmer winds and cooler air inland. However, temperatures along the coast may stay above zero right up to New Year's Eve night.

In regions such as Møre og Romsdal and Trøndelag, higher humidity is expected. Rainfall from the post-Christmas period may turn into snow.

Colder North and Possible Snowstorms

The north of the country remains under the influence of a cold air mass. In Trøndelag, Nordland, Troms, and Finnmark, occasional snowfall is possible. It is still unclear how far south these phenomena will reach.

In southern Norway, winds are expected to be weaker than in the north. The strongest gusts are forecast in Nordland and Troms.

Large Temperature Differences Between Cities

Meteorological data show clear weather contrasts. In Kautokeino, temperatures are forecast between -16 and -13 degrees with cloudy skies. In Oslo, temperatures may range from -1 to 1 degree with periods of sunshine.

Bergen and Stavanger can expect 2–4 degrees and rain. In Tromsø, snow and subzero temperatures are predicted.

Where Is the Best Chance for Good Firework Visibility?

Meteorologists indicate the highest probability of clear skies in northern Norway, especially in the interior areas of Finnmark.

Some regions of southern Norway may also experience favorable conditions. However, the final weather will depend on local changes just before midnight.
