Taxes in Norway 2025: Faster with MultiNOR's New Tool.
New tax form in MultiNOR MultiNOR
In March, thousands of Poles working in Norway will receive their Skattemelding, the preliminary tax return. Although this document is generated automatically, it rarely includes all the deductions we are actually entitled to. How can you avoid missing deadlines and be sure you'll get back every krone you deserve? Experts from MultiNOR are here to help, introducing a revolutionary new convenience for taxpayers.
Tax Calendar 2025 – Key Dates
According to the latest schedule, the dispatch of the Skattemelding for 2025 starts as early as March 9 and will continue until April 9. The tax office sends documents in batches, so don’t panic if you don’t receive yours right away.
The key date for most of us is April 30 – this is the final deadline to submit your tax return or request an extension. However, it’s worth acting sooner. The first round of tax refunds may hit accounts as early as March 17, provided you check and submit your return without errors right after receiving it.

Why is Skattemelding Not a 'Sure Thing'?
Many taxpayers make the mistake of accepting the preliminary return without checking it. The Tax Office (Skatteetaten) doesn’t know about all the expenses you’ve incurred. To ensure a favorable outcome, you need to make sure to include deductions such as:
- commuter status (travel costs to Poland, accommodation, and meals),
- interest on loans (including those in Poland!),
- childcare costs (kindergarten, after-school care up to age 12),
- 10% deduction (for those in their first or second year of work in Norway).

Do You Have Access to Altinn? That’s Half the Battle
For experts to efficiently check your Skattemelding, you need active access to the Altinn system (via MinID or BankID). If your permissions have expired or you’ve never set them up, it’s worth taking care of this now. With authorization, a consultant can monitor your status and keep track of deadlines on your behalf, saving you stress and the risk of penalties for delays.
Trust the Professionals
Instead of wondering whether you’ve correctly claimed all deductions, hand your tax return over to specialists who have been helping Poles navigate Norwegian regulations for years. Speed, data security, and the maximum possible refund – that’s the standard you can expect this season.
