These are the first significant snowfalls of the year in the mountain regions. Within a short period, several centimeters of white powder fell. In many places, drivers were unprepared for winter conditions. Traffic jams formed on the routes, and some had to wait for road services to intervene.

Increased Activity of Services in Norway

Police in the southeastern district reported a series of collisions and road accidents on the Rv7 road. No serious injuries were recorded in any of the incidents. Traffic in some areas was halted or significantly slowed down.

Road services began salting the roads and removing accumulated snow. Officers are urging drivers to exercise particular caution while driving.

Difficulties and Risk of Road Closures

In the town of Kvisla in Hol municipality, a passenger car overturned onto its side. Emergency services had to intervene at the scene, and traffic is currently alternating. There is still a risk of temporary road closures due to technical operations.

Authorities remind drivers of the need to change to winter tires in advance and to monitor weather forecasts before traveling to mountain areas.
Snowfall in Buskerud may herald the arrival of winter in southern Norway. According to road services, further snowfall and temperature drops are possible in the coming days. This may lead to further traffic disruptions. Drivers are asked to reduce speed and adjust their driving style to the road conditions.
