Norwegian Krone Under Pressure. Not Only Investors Are Watching With Concern

On September 29, one euro costs 11.68 NOK, which means a slight strengthening of the EU currency on a daily basis. On a weekly scale, the euro has gained about 0.15% against the NOK. In a broader perspective, over the past three years, by 2025 the euro has appreciated by an impressive 12.5% against the krone. On the other hand, the EUR/NOK rate is still far from the peak of 12.10 NOK observed in April.

Currently, one US dollar costs an average of 9.95 Norwegian kroner, which means a decrease of 0.14% over the last day. On a weekly basis, the USD has strengthened by 0.55% against the NOK, but on a monthly basis, the American currency has weakened by over 1.00%. The US dollar is also far from the peaks at the beginning of the year, when its value approached 11.50 NOK.

Since the end of August, the Polish zloty has shown a stable rate. One Polish zloty costs an average of 2.74 NOK. From August 22 to the end of September, the Norwegian krone has remained within the range of 2.76-2.72 NOK.

The current situation of the Norwegian krone, although better than at the beginning of the year, still remains historically weak. Investors are awaiting further decisions from the central bank and the development of the geopolitical situation, which may affect the future performance of the Norwegian currency.
