Łukasz S. disappeared near Linnesstranda. Police revealed what happened

Norwegian police announced the death of the Polish man in a statement on July 30, 2026. The search began immediately after the disappearance was reported in the evening, with several rescue units dispatched to the scene. A helicopter also participated in the operation. For several hours, emergency services searched the fjord and its surroundings.

Łukasz S.'s disappearance was reported in the evening of July 22. The man had previously been in the Linnesstranda area, located in the Lier municipality. Police officers were dispatched to the scene. Fire department divers and a rescue helicopter crew also joined the search.

The Norwegian Red Cross (Norges Røde Kors) participated in the operation. The organization deployed a drone over the search area to help check the shoreline and the water's surface. The operation lasted several hours. However, rescuers were unable to find the missing man.

After several hours, the rescue operation was called off. Authorities determined there was no longer any chance of finding the Polish man alive, so the efforts shifted to a recovery operation. In the following days, the area around the fjord continued to be searched, including by divers.

The 42-year-old's body was found on Gilhusodden beach near Drammen. Norwegian police confirmed that the deceased was the missing Łukasz S. His family was then informed.
