The attackers allegedly threatened the Norwegian with a knife, took his phone, payment card, and cash, and then forced him to withdraw money from an ATM. After the assault, they reportedly continued to use his card for further transactions.
The suspects were apprehended on May 8th at Gdańsk airport, from where they were planning to fly to Gothenburg. The court has ordered three months of detention. If convicted, they face between 3 and 20 years in prison.
Some media outlets published the names and initials of the suspects: Mohamad H., Aran Acib A., Jabril H., and Senal Saned O. However, personal data alone does not determine the men's origins—official reports primarily indicated that they are Swedish citizens.
The case was reported by Polish media including TVN24, RMF24, Trojmiasto.pl, Radio Gdańsk, and Dziennik Bałtycki.
