There will be no SAS strike this weekend. What does this mean for flights to Poland?

If you have a SAS ticket for Saturday or Sunday, you do not need to change or cancel your reservation yourself. Flights are expected to operate as normal. However, before heading to the airport, it is worth checking your flight in the SAS app or in the My trips section. If you have not received a message about a change or cancellation, go to the airport as planned.

Yes, individual changes or delays are still possible. However, they do not have to be related to the strike. Weather, technical problems, or the situation at the airport may have an impact. Therefore, it is best to:

• check the flight status before departure,
• make sure SAS has your current phone number,
• arrive at the airport at the usual time,
• not buy a new ticket without first contacting the airline.

If your flight is canceled, SAS should offer you:

• another flight to your destination or
• a refund for the unused ticket.

If you have to wait longer, you may also be entitled to meals, a hotel, and transportation to your accommodation. If the airline does not provide assistance and you pay yourself, keep your receipts. Expenses should be reasonable and directly related to the delay.

The dispute mainly concerned the salaries and schedules of SAS cabin crew in Norway. Without an agreement, about 500 employees could have started a strike early Saturday morning. However, the parties reached an agreement, so this coming weekend should not see mass cancellations for this reason. The new agreement still needs to be reviewed by employees. The conflict may therefore return later if the agreement is rejected. However, this does not affect flights planned for this weekend.
