Flood warnings for Østlandet
The Boelo low-pressure system is approachingThe Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has issued flood warnings for a large part of Østlandet. The level has been raised to orange for large areas west of Oslo (including parts of Buskerud, Telemark and Vestfold). A yellow level applies to the remaining areas (including parts of Oslo, Akershus and Telemark).
Heavy rainfall may lead to rapid rises in rivers and streams in eastern Norway. NVE has issued orange flood warnings for parts of Østlandet. Residents in at-risk areas should prepare their properties and secure their belongings.

The warnings take effect from Saturday evening (around 21:00) and are expected to remain in force until Sunday evening. The cause is heavy rainfall associated with a low-pressure system named Boelo, which is approaching from the United Kingdom.
In some places, 40–60 mm of rain may fall within 12 hours. This may cause rapid rises in water levels in streams and smaller rivers, local flooding, bank erosion and stormwater problems in urban areas. Recommendations from NVE and Varsom.no:

- Remove leaves, branches and other debris from drains, gullies and ditches.
- Secure or move valuable items from basements, as well as vehicles parked near rivers and streams.
- Keep away from swollen waterways.
