Nach Auflösung dieser Gruppe veröffentlichen Hyde und Smith Ende der 80er Jahre unter dem Namen Underworld zwei Alben und beginnen, sich gemeinsam mit Darren Emerson auf die progressive Dancefloor-Musik zu spezialisieren. Mit „Dubnobasswithmyheadman\" (1993) schafft Underworld es, mit einer Verknüpfung von Dance- und Rockstyle sämtliche Kritiker zu überzeugen. Internationale Gigs waren das Ergebnis Ihres Erfolges.
