Zespół Marek Makaron Trio jako pierwszy w Polsce połączył teksty starych, zapomnianych pieśni ludowych oraz robotniczych z terenu Śląska i okolic, z akustycznym, tradycyjnym Bluesem. Większość tekstów wykonywanych przez zespół zachowała się bez melodii. W ostatnich wiekach słowa były przekazywane z pokolenia na pokolenie najczęściej drogą pisaną. Z czasem stały się przedmiotem badań etnografów i historyków. Podobnie "Skarga Umierającego". Jest to pieśń żałobna, której korzenie sięgają nawet XV wieku. Przypuszcza się, że słowa trafiły do Polski z terenów Czech. Jej najbardziej znane wersje to wersja z okolic Płocka oraz z Wrocławia. Co ciekawe, ta wersja wykonywana przez zespół pochodzi z terenów dzisiejszych Katowic i nawiązuje do obydwu wyżej wymienionych.
